REGULATORY GROWTH PATH

Building credibility the
right way, grade by grade

BBWS operates under CIDB's Civil Engineering (CE) class — the same regulator and grading ladder as BESC, registered separately for this distinct competency.

WE ARE HERE
Grade 1 CE
Entry registration. Projects up to R500,000. No track record required.
Grade 2–6 CE
Progressive thresholds, built on demonstrated track record and financial capacity.
Grade 7–9 CE
Large-scale and unlimited-value projects — real public tenders for bulk earthworks specify Grade 7 CE as a minimum.

ENVIRONMENTAL DISCIPLINE

Screened before we break ground

Not all earthworks require environmental authorisation — but some do, and we never assume exemption.

Screen
Every project is screened against NEMA's listed activities before any clearing or excavation begins.

Assess, If Triggered
Where a listed activity applies, a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner scopes the required assessment.

Proceed, Once Cleared
Clearing and excavation proceed only once any required authorisation is lawfully in place.
Why this matters

Most small earthworks operators don't formalise this screening step. Treating it as standard process on every project — not an afterthought — is a genuine credibility advantage with institutional and government clients, and it protects everyone on the project.
